An Ofsted rated GOOD secondary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed individual to make a significant impact on students' learning and development within a supportive and dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Lead small group interventions and support individual students to enhance their learning.
  • Cover classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the teacher.
  • Support the development of students' literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to assess students' progress and provide feedback.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Passion for supporting students' learning and development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to commencing the role).

Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies to support students with additional needs.
  • First Aid training or willingness to undertake training.
