An award-winning group of independent special schools, renowned for their commitment to excellence and innovation, is seeking a dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their permanent staff at their Wolverhampton location.

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals to support and enhance the educational experience of students with special educational needs. This role is ideal for an individual with a deep understanding of SEN and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational programs.
  • Lead small group sessions and provide one-on-one support to students.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with SEN students.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Experience with behavior management and intervention strategies.

Desirable:

  • HLTA status or willingness to work towards achieving it.
  • Additional qualifications in SEN or related areas.
  • Experience in an independent school setting.
