Are you an experienced HLTA who is looking for a new challenge in an alternative provision?
A centre based in the Redruth area are looking for the right candidate to help assist students who have struggled in mainstream school, some students have been permanently excluded.
Staff are passionate about contributing to the life outcomes of the students they support. Education is at the core of their approach. The school caters for key stage 3 and 4 pupils and staff help to try and re-engage students by creating a happy and healthy environment for them.
The centre provides opportunities for students where they can still carry out all the main core subjects, along with PE & Design and Technology. They are looking for a full time teaching assistant who can support the teacher in small classes and help to guide the students.
The school received a GOOD Ofsted report which stated “Pupils’ behaviour in and around school is good, they engage well in lessons. Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good because they are knowledgeable about other cultures and beliefs. They are respectful to staff and visitors to the school”.
The ideal HLTA would be somebody who has had experience working with students who may have had difficulties in mainstream schools. They would be somebody who has patience and resilience and can build relationships with students to help them learn, breaking down any barriers they have previously had towards education.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
