Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?

A secondary SEMH provision in Manchester is currently looking for HLTAs to take on full-time positions starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with complex needs. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students are engaged and supported in their learning journey.

Within this role you will:

  • Provide classroom support to students with SEMH needs, helping to deliver lessons and engage students in their learning.
  • Plan and lead small group and one-on-one interventions tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of EHCPs, behaviour management strategies, and individual learning plans.
  • Manage challenging behaviour

For this role you should:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably within an SEMH setting.
  • A good understanding of SEMH needs, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Team Teach or other relevant behaviour management training (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
