Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school in New Islington, Manchester. This is a full-time position, where the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers, ensuring high-quality learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Take responsibility for covering whole classes in the teacher’s absence
  • Assist in planning and delivering learning activities for individuals or groups
  • Provide tailored support for children with diverse learning needs
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support with classroom management and behavior, following school policies

About You:

  • You will hold HLTA status or have relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant with the ability to cover classes
  • Passionate about education and committed to improving student outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and supporting diverse learners
