A thriving and inclusive primary school in Hackney, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their permanent staff starting January 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of students, working closely with teachers and contributing to the overall positive school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons across the primary age range, covering classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Work with individual pupils, small groups, and whole classes to support learning across the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and prepare lessons and learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, ensuring all pupils can access learning effectively.
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive and positive ethos by supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with assessing pupil progress, offering feedback, and helping to implement intervention strategies where necessary.

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
  • Proven experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and the ability to deliver high-quality support in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Confidence in managing whole class teaching and supporting pupils with a range of abilities.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment for all pupils.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
