Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Macclesfield. This full-time position is to cover a long-term absence from September until December. Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive History lessons that align with the national curriculum. Encourage students to explore historical events critically and understand their relevance to contemporary society.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess and track student progress through various methods, including exams, essays, and projects. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Implement effective behavior management strategies to ensure all students are focused and engaged in their learning.
  • Resource Integration: Utilize a variety of teaching resources, including primary sources, digital tools, and interactive activities, to enhance the learning experience and cater to different learning styles.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Tailor lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, offering additional support or challenge as necessary to ensure all students can access and excel in the curriculum.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the History department and across the school to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
  • Parental Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Extracurricular Participation: Contribute to the school's extracurricular offerings by supporting or leading activities related to History, such as clubs, field trips, or academic competitions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in History or a related field.
