History Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Starting December 2024

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join our team for a maternity cover position, starting in December. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive secondary school located in the heart of Clitheroe, Lancashire.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and insightful History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, helping to inspire a love of history and critical thinking in our learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons to students in KS3 and KS4.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression in the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for the subject and a commitment to student success.
