Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Northampton

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs?

Teaching personnel are currently working with a great school in Northampton who are seeking a Higher level Teaching Assistant to join their team to help support their students with personal care needs on a day to day basis.

About the role

The role will require you to work closely with classroom teachers providing support to students with SEN, through providing one-on-one or small groups, adapting teaching methods, and materials to meet individual needs.

It will also be important for the successful candidate to foster positive relationships with parents, as well as the students and other staff members to ensure full understanding of the individuals you are working with as well as attending training and professional development sessions to again enhance your knowledge, to ensure you can provide your students with the very best help and support.

The Northampton based school are located in the NN3 area, so very central to Northampton. They have been rated a ‘Good’ School by Ofsted and have excellent facilities for students and members of staff. Due to their locality the school have excellent transport links for those who do not drive and a large car park for members of staff who do.

Requirements

  • 2 + years’ Experience working with SEN children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to learning
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students with special educational needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Enhanced child only DBS
