A vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic two-form entry school located in the East Bristol are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our passionate team.  The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals and small groups.
  • Support class teachers in the management and organisation of the classroom.
  • Provide cover for teachers, leading whole-class sessions when required.
  • Assist in the assessment and tracking of student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Support the development of students’ social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • A recognized HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for education.
  • Experience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and relevant educational strategies.
  • First Aid qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
