Position: Teacher of Humanities

Start date: Monday 2nd September 2024

Expected end date: Friday 20th December 2024

Location: BB4 area of Lancashire

School: Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ Secondary school

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a dedicated, talented and pro-active Teacher of Humanities with full-time availability in September, to join a large, all ability, non-denominational school.

The school aims to provide a world class education for their students, making them ‘well-rounded’ individuals. Their vision is to therefore create a school that will exemplify ‘outstanding’ Secondary practice, evidenced by excellent attainment and progress for all pupils.

The Humanities Teacher will be expected to:

-          Deliver the highest possible educational standards and create a high expectation culture in which students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

-          Help to manage standards of learning and behaviour in the Humanities department and wider academy on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high expectations and full commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes.

-          Be accountable for the attainment and progress in Humanities at the school.

-          Contribute to developing the aspirations and self-belief of all students, thereby securing high quality outcomes for all.

-          Develop strong productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to maintain a learning community that strives for personal growth.

-          Contribute to effective self-evaluation of outcomes, practice and consequent planning for improvement for the academy.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver outstanding teaching and learning KS3 & KS4 Humanities, regularly using data to monitor and evaluate the progress and attainment of designated groups and individuals across all year groups and putting in place appropriate interventions to improve their achievement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
