An Ofsted rated GOOD secondary school in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Humanities to join their vibrant and supportive team from September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality lessons in Humanities subjects (History, Geography, Religious Studies, etc.) across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Planning and preparing engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Managing classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Contributing to the development of the Humanities curriculum and participating in departmental activities.
  • Providing pastoral support to students, fostering a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Engaging with parents, carers, and colleagues to support students’ learning and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in a relevant Humanities subject.
  • Proven experience of teaching Humanities subjects at secondary school level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience in teaching at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Familiarity with current educational developments and best practices in the teaching of Humanities.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
