Are you a passionate Humanities or Geography teacher who thrives in making a difference? Do you have the empathy, patience, and skills to work with students who have faced challenges in mainstream education? We are seeking a committed Humanities/Geography Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Liverpool on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

About the Role:

Our alternative provision caters to students who have experienced difficulties in their previous educational settings. We offer small class sizes and a nurturing environment where students can re-engage with learning and build positive relationships. As a teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging Humanities/Geography lessons that inspire students to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Humanities and Geography lessons tailored to the needs of small groups of students.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a safe and comfortable learning environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, helping them regain confidence in their education.
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure that individual learning plans are followed, allowing each student to reach their full potential.
  • Foster an environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and able to express themselves.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher with experience teaching Humanities or Geography.
  • Experience working with students who have additional learning needs or behavioural challenges is desirable.
  • Strong empathy and an understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provisions.
  • Effective behaviour management skills, with the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Passionate about creating positive learning experiences for students who may have disengaged from education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
