Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the ICT/Computing curriculum across the school, ensuring the delivery of innovative and engaging lessons that inspire pupils and enhance their digital literacy skills. This role includes overseeing the development and implementation of the school's ICT strategy, managing resources effectively, and supporting staff in integrating technology into their teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive ICT/Computing curriculum in line with national standards.
  • Lead and manage the ICT/Computing department, providing guidance and support to staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ICT teaching and learning, using data to inform improvements.
  • Ensure the school's ICT infrastructure and resources are up-to-date and effectively utilized.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate ICT into the broader school curriculum and strategic planning.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their ICT skills.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupil engagement and achievement in ICT.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in teaching ICT/Computing at the primary level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
  • Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and current educational trends in ICT.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for integrating technology into education.
  • Experience in using data to drive improvement and track pupil progress.
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
