A highly reputable SEMH School Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Teacher to join the permanent staff of their esteemed independent special school located in Stockton-On-Tees. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective IT lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Develop and implement a creative curriculum that meets the academic and developmental needs of each student.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technological tools to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching IT, preferably within a special education setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for teaching and learning.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Additional qualifications or training in special education or SEMH.
  • Experience with behavior management techniques and restorative practices.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
