Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Exclusion Manager to manage and lead our internal exclusion provision within schools. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement, ensuring that students in internal exclusion receive the guidance and support they need to reintegrate positively into the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the internal exclusion unit, providing a structured and supportive environment for students.
  • Work closely with students to address behavioural concerns, develop strategies for improvement, and promote positive outcomes.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents/carers to ensure effective communication and consistency in student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student behaviour, attendance, and progress while in internal exclusion.
  • Deliver tailored interventions to help students reflect on their behaviour, build emotional resilience, and reintegrate into mainstream lessons.
  • Implement behaviour management policies and provide guidance on appropriate strategies to support students in need.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with young people in an educational or behavioural setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and school inclusion policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Organised, proactive, and resilient, with a commitment to supporting student welfare and academic success.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting, ideally in a pastoral or behavioural support role.
