Position Overview: Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed and enthusiastic ASC Teaching Assistant to join a small primary school in Huyton, Liverpool. This role is a temporary position running from September 2024 until December 2024, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with ASC, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials for students with ASC.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents.
  • Engage with students in both individual and group settings (across KS2) to enhance their learning experience.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with ASC.
  • A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach to supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
