A vibrant and nurturing primary school located in the heart of Cardiff are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team and support a Year 5/6 mixed class.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily life of a Year 5/6 classroom. You will assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education and help create an inclusive atmosphere where all children can thrive. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated, adaptable, and eager to make a positive impact on our students' learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Support individual students and small groups in their learning activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment by encouraging children to participate fully.
  • Help with classroom management to ensure a safe and conducive learning space.
  • Collaborate with other staff and professionals to support students’ diverse needs.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom resources and materials.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for education and working with children.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • A proactive approach to supporting learning and promoting students’ well-being.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable.
