Year 3 Teacher, Blackburn
The Head Teacher of a Roman Catholic primary school in Blackburn is seeking to appoint a strong Primary Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team from as soon as possible. The role has arisen due to the current staff member requiring a long-term absence from school. The position is expected to continue until January 2023; however, there is potential for a school contract.
To be considered for this new and exciting opportunity, you must be qualified with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have prior experience of teaching in Year 2, 3 or 4. It is important that you demonstrate high expectations with regards to attitude, attainment and behaviour, and are consistent in your approach. Organisation and commitment to your role and the school are essential; you will be required to take on the full role of the Class Teacher, including attending parents’ evenings and school celebrations, and writing annual school reports. As a Roman Catholic primary school, the Catholic ethos and its faith are encouraged and linked to all that they do. Accordingly, it is important that you are able to promote this throughout your practice and act as a positive role model for the pupils.
The school is graded ‘GOOD’ in all areas by Ofsted. The Head Teacher and senior leadership team lead by example and are ambitious for every pupil. Pupils are well behaved and enthusiastic about learning. They are very proud of their school and the work they do.
The school is smaller than the average-sized primary school. The proportion of pupils who have special educational need and/or disabilities is above the national average, as is the proportion of pupils identified as ‘disadvantaged’.
