Position: Full-Time, Permanent

An Ofsted rated GOOD primary school in Reading is seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 2 (KS2) teacher to join their permanent staff team from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and dynamic school environment that is committed to fostering excellence in education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to KS2 students, ensuring that all children reach their full potential. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupil progress, and working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support each child’s development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective and engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to support student learning and development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in school events and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of teaching KS2, with a track record of raising pupil achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school’s ethos and values.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience of leading a subject area or contributing to whole-school initiatives.
  • An understanding of current educational trends and developments.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
