The KS3 LAC Tutor will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC) in the East of England, specifically in Essex, Maldon. Duties include designing and delivering tailored educational sessions, monitoring progress, and collaborating with social workers and other professionals to ensure the educational needs of the students are met.

A relevant teaching qualification and experience working with vulnerable children and young people. Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.

A degree in Education or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with LAC students.

Strong understanding of the UK education system, excellent communication skills, ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs, and a compassionate and patient approach.

Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or experience in SEN teaching.

The role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the students. The work environment may include visits to students' homes, schools, or other educational settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
