Job Title: KS3 English and Maths Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored support and guidance to Key Stage 3 students with special educational needs in English and Maths.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop personalised learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behaviour.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in Key Stage 3.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Working Conditions:

  • Location: Working in pupils homes, in Ongar and surrounding areas.
  • Temporary position with the expectation to work full-time hours.
  • Salary: £20 - £30 per hour.
  • Working hours may vary based on student needs and school schedules.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
