About us: At TP Tutors, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in foster care. We understand the unique challenges these children face, and we are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated tutors to make a positive impact on the lives of looked after children.

Overview: As an LAC Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of children in the care system. You will work with children of various ages and academic levels, providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to help them excel academically. Your goal will be to foster a love for learning, boost their confidence, and ensure that they have the educational support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sessions to children in foster care.
  • Create personalised learning plans based on each child's educational needs and goals.
  • Monitor and track the progress of each child and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and caregivers to ensure a cohesive support    system for each child.
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement to help children overcome educational barriers.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.

You will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or a Certificate in Education
  • Experience working with children in foster care, or with SEN or SEMH.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Ability to adapt tutoring strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Knowledge of the UK educational system and curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
