Job Title: Lead SEN English Teacher
Location: Preston, Lancashire   
Salary: M1 - UPS2 plus Expert payment of £1,500 per annum in addition to current salary  
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time Only  

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a large SEN School based in Preston. The school cater for pupils aged 11-16 who face challenges associated with SEMH needs. The focus is on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives, be that further education, training or work. The students may present with challenging behaviours.

The school are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead English Teacher to join their team. As the English Teacher, you will deliver high quality teaching and learning to young people.

Key duties:

  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  • Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
  • Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.

Successful candidate qualities:

  • Essential: PGCE, QTS, QTLS teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • To be able to teach from Entry level 2 & 3, Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 and GCSEs in English and 1 other subject to GCSE Level.

Directions-

This school is based in Preston, you will need to be able to drive and access to a car as the school is remote. Parking will be available on site.
