A secondary school in Fareham is seeking a dedicated and suitably qualified Lead Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time from November/December. The successful candidate will take on a key leadership role within the Cognition & Learning department, working closely with the Assistant Headteacher, SENDCo, and Assistant SENDCo.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line-manage a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) within the Cognition & Learning area, ensuring effective allocation and monitoring of work.
  • Oversee training and development for your team, fostering a collaborative and skilled support network.
  • Take the lead in planning, implementing, and reviewing interventions and support strategies tailored to students with specific learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support students’ progress and development, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of support interventions, adjusting practices where necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the school’s SEND strategy, working closely with the leadership team to ensure students’ needs are met.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in SEND, particularly within Cognition & Learning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team of LSAs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively across various departments.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and supporting the diverse needs of students.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership, contributing to school-wide initiatives and support plans.
