A large and diverse secondary school in Cardiff are looking for a new Learning Coach to support pupils in KS3 and KS4 (11 – 16) with Autism and Challenging Behaviour.

The pupils you will be supporting attend a mix of mainstream and small group-based lessons, and benefit from intervention sessions with Learning Coaches to develop their skills and independence in the school environment.

The ideal Learning Coach will be someone with a degree level education, who is passionate about working with young people, perhaps even aspirations to teach or work within the education sector long term. You will be supporting pupils with Additional Needs ranging from ASD, ADHD, communication challenges and Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges so an open-minded and compassionate attitude is essential.

 

The school are looking for new staff to start at the beginning of the next academic year (from September 2024) and continue for at least the full academic year (to July 2025).

 

Requirements

-          Enhanced Child Only DBS (+ Update Service Registration)

-          EWC Registration

-          Available Monday to Friday, during school hours

-          Experience supporting children or adults with Additional Learning Needs (preferable)
