Teaching Personnel, a leading education recruitment company, are working closely with a wonderful SEN school in Horsham that caters for students with autism. We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join their team and support pupils in achieving their full potential.

Position: Learning Mentor
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £21,020 per annum, including full pay over half terms and the summer break
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP

As a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in helping students with autism thrive in their educational environment. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance, both academically and emotionally, ensuring that each pupil feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism
  • Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans
  • Help students build confidence, resilience, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Offer pastoral care to ensure students feel safe and supported

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with autism (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • A commitment to making a real difference in the lives of young people
