Do you want to inspire and guide students who need extra academic or emotional support? We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Learning Mentor to work on a 1:1 or small group basis in secondary schools across Southampton. This role is ideal for someone who wants to have a lasting impact on students' lives, providing targeted support to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

  • Offer tailored mentoring and support to students who need additional guidance, including those with behavioural, emotional, or learning difficulties.
  • Develop individual learning plans and strategies to support students in building confidence, improving academic skills, and managing their emotions.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions focusing on literacy, numeracy, and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to identify students' needs and provide the right level of support.
  • Personal Development: Access to a wide range of professional development opportunities, including CPD courses that focus on SEN support and behaviour management.

  • Experience in mentoring or supporting students in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to providing emotional and academic support to students.
  • Knowledge or experience in working with SEN students is a plus.
