An SEN Provision in Skelmersdale who are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time basis. This SEN school caters for young people aged 11 to 16 who have individual needs based on Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The role is due to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis (8.30am-3.30pm).

This role involves providng classroom support as well as elements of working on a 1:1 basis with a pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The aim of this role is to encourage engagement within lessons, to improve the pupils behaviour and help them access the tailored curriculum. This role is currently on a temporary basis with the view to continue for the whole academic year. The Head Teacher has explained there may be an interest in the successful candidate continuing in school on a school contract at some point.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience supporting children and/or young adults with additional needs. This expereince would ideally be in an educational setting however the Head Teacher has said they are open minded to meeting candidates from a variety of backgrounds including support work, care assistant, sports coaching etc. The Head Teacher has said they are looking for someone who is energetic and has a nurturing approach. 

The Head Teacher would like to meet shortlisted candidates via zoom initially with a view to having them in school, they have mentioned there could possibly be more than one position available in school.
