About the Learning Support Assistant Role:

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their early education journey? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team in Hackney. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to work closely with KS1/KS2 students helping them thrive academically and socially.



Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual and Group Support: Provide targeted assistance to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, ensuring they meet their learning goals.
  • Curriculum Assistance: Support the classroom teacher with delivering engaging lessons, preparing learning materials, and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Behaviour Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive, respectful atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN): Work with children with diverse needs, implementing personalised strategies to aid their development.
  • General Classroom Duties: Assist with daily routines, classroom organisation, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.


What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential. Familiarity with the Key Stage 1 curriculum and supporting children with special needs is a plus.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child care are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with young children. Proficiency in managing classroom dynamics and supporting differentiated learning.
  • Commitment: A proactive and flexible attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
