EAL Support Assistant (English as an additional language)

Are you currently seeking a full-time position in a school in Croydon from September?

A vacancy has arisen within a primary school in Croydon.
They require a member of staff to provide support to a small number of children across Key Stage 2 who have English as their additional language.
Your role will include delivering daily interventions, as well as provide general classroom support. 

Details of the role:

  • Working Hours: 09:00 – 15:30, Mon – Fri  
  • Start date: Wednesday 4th September

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored learning activities and providing learning support in order to achieve progression and targets set
  • Engaging, motivating and encouraging
  • Monitoring and carrying out assessments
  • Working collaboratively with the Class Teacher and school SENCo in order to provide the very best support
  • Assist the Class Teacher in managing behaviour
  • Create classroom displays and provide support with preparing resources for learning
  • Attend meetings and contribute to the extra-curricular opportunities provided by the school

Requirements:

  • Child workforce DBS on update service or willing to apply for a new DBS
  • Recent experience working alongside children with English as an additional language
  • Pro-active, hardworking and committed to making a positive impact

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
