We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant. This temporary position is located in Hackney, Greater London, England. As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will be expected to work full-time hours in the field of Education and Training.

  • Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Implement individualised learning plans, under the guidance of the classroom teacher or SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist students with their daily activities, including personal care, if required.
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Help students to develop their communication and language skills.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists, to support students' specific needs.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience working with children or young adults in an educational or support setting.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is required.

Prior experience working with children or young adults in an educational or support setting.

Experience working with children or adults with SEN

Experience working with either KS1 or KS2 

  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Record-keeping and progress monitoring abilities.
  • Higher level qualifications in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Training or certification in specific areas of special educational needs support.

This is a temporary position, expected to work full-time hours. The role involves working closely with students with special educational needs or disabilities. The working environment may vary depending on the educational institution, but it generally requires working within classrooms or designated support areas.

Salary for this position is £85.00 - £95.00 per day, with benefits provided through PAYE.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
