A high achieving secondary school is seeking to appoint an experienced member of staff to join their successful department with immediate effect.

The school, which is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, has a focus on teaching each pupil the importance of respect, courtesy and consideration. With a broad curriculum and a variety of extra-curricular activities designed to actively involve pupils in the learning process, this school is driven to develop each pupil’s full potential. As a Learning Support Assistant, your work will be pivotal to the school achieving this vision.

The main responsibilities of the job will include:

  • Aiding students from years 7-11 through their classwork on a 1:2:1 basis.
  • Ensuring the students who require additional support remain focused and stay on task.
  • Monitor and track progress of the children to targeted levels.
  • Make sure behaviour is manged to a suitable standard.

You will primarily focus on barriers to learning and helping pupils to overcome them to ensure all pupils can excel in their mainstream education. In addition to this, you will support the department by running sessions with target pupils, concentrating on helping them engage with subject material and progress in accordance with their target grades.
