Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • One-on-One Support: The Learning Support Assistant will provide individualised assistance to a Year 4 pupil with Autism, helping them engage with the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
  • Behavioural Support: Implementing strategies to manage and encourage positive behaviour, ensuring the pupil remains focused and integrated within the class.
  • Learning Adaptation: The Learning Support Assistant will help modify and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of the pupil, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Collaborative Work: Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff members to develop and implement an effective learning plan tailored to the pupil's needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor the pupil's progress, reporting back to the teacher and SENCO, and adjusting strategies as needed.
