Learning Support Assistants required in Gosport ASAP! 

 

Teaching Personnel are working closely with an inclusive secondary school in Gosport that is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their team. These are full-time positions with an immediate start.

The ideal candidates will have experience working with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, as well as those with learning and behavioural difficulties.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and other personalised strategies to support student progress.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by building rapport and maintaining consistent behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students in both academic and pastoral areas, including assisting with literacy, numeracy, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure effective communication and holistic support for each student.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to relevant staff members, contributing to their academic and personal development.
  • Help with the preparation and delivery of classroom activities, adapting materials to suit the needs of individual students.
  • Assist in supervising students during break times and ensure a safe, supportive environment.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, and behavioural challenges in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form trusting relationships with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who may display challenging behaviours.
  • A commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning and fostering their independence.
