Learning Support Assistant

Do you want to widen your experiences within in an educational setting in a rewarding role?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for Learning Support Staff to support pupils within Secondary Schools with additional learning needs and behaviour management difficulties. This role is vital in helping our ALN students achieve their full potential and assist their access to learning by offering tailored support and guidance.

Location: Newport

Job Type: Monday – Friday, 8:30 - 15:30

Start Date: Immediate

 Pay: £83.85- £90 daily, dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will:

-          Have a genuine passion for helping children and young people who have additional needs and ensuring they maximise their potential within school.

-          Provide individualised support to students, assisting them in engaging with assignments, managing their time, and staying on track with their studies.

-          Implement strategies customised to the student's individual requirements, whether they be physical, emotional, or academic challenges.

-          Develop a positive relationship with students to foster trust and involvement in their education.

-          Participate in training and professional development sessions related to Autism, ADHD and other additional needs.

Requirements:

-          EWC registration (or willingness to apply)

-          Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) (or willingness to apply)

-          Have previous experience working with SEN children (ideal but not essential)

-          Or have previous experience working in care (ideal but not essential)
