As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting. This includes assisting with classroom activities, helping students with their learning and development, and supporting the SEN teacher in implementing individual education plans.

Any SEN qualifications are preferred for this role to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to support students effectively. A strong educational background and a passion for working with individuals with special needs are essential.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additional qualifications in special education or related fields would be beneficial.

Prior experience working with students with SEN needs is highly desirable. Experience in a classroom setting or educational environment will be advantageous.

Key skills for this role include patience, the ability to build rapport with students, effective communication, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and development. You should have a good understanding of different learning styles and strategies for supporting students with SEN needs.

Any additional SEN-related qualifications or training would be advantageous in this role. Continuous professional development in special education will be beneficial.

You will be working in an alternative provision in a mianstream school, primarily within a classroom setting. The role may involve providing one-on-one support to students, assisting with group activities, and collaborating with teachers and other support staff. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the varying needs of students are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
