An of excellent opportunity has arisen in the Tameside area, working with a “GOOD” performing school, to Ofsted reports. The role will be as Learning support assistant that requires working 1 to 1 with students to aid their additional needs, throughout their school life.

In order to work with the students and provide that extra support that the child needs, it’s important that the new team member possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive and nurturing nature towards the student.
  • Punctual and reliable, as the child’s day can be affected if they no receive that additional help.
  • Good relationship building skills.

The brilliant team of staff there can also provide additional support and development in terms of training to help the transition in into the new role. A candidate that already has experience in a similar area would be ideal for the situation but not completely essential. Any sort of calm, confident and considerate person would be a great fit for the role and hopefully have a great impact on a student’s school life.

The pay range varies from £400 - £500, dependant on prior experience and qualifications. 

The main roles and responsibilities of the job would consist of:

  • Aiding the child in their daily school life.
  • Helping with classroom work and lessons.
  • Ensuring the students maintain a targeted level of progress throughout.
  • Work with the current staff there to aid teaching.

As part of the recruitment process any applicant would need to be subject to standard Vetting checks:

  • DBS certificate
  • Recent work references
  • Anyone who has lived outside the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years would be needed to provide an overseas criminal check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
