Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary school in Gosport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The school considers their curriculum to encompass all the experiences and opportunities that pupils encounter as they journey through their education.

Their aim is for all students to experience success, develop essential skills and acquire a deep understanding of curriculum content.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils in lessons, helping them engage with and understand the curriculum.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans, working closely with teachers and the SEND team to ensure pupil's needs are met.
  • Support students in developing skills across a wide range of subjects, focusing on building confidence and fostering independent learning.
  • Help monitor and record students' progress, identifying areas where further support is needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.
  • Participate in interventions and small group sessions, offering additional assistance to pupils who may require it.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • A passion for supporting young people in their education and personal development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with both students and staff.
  • An understanding of SEND and experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • The ability to be patient, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning experience for all pupils.
