Teaching Personnel is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Special Educational School in the Warmley area.

This school caters for students aged 3-19 with profound mental learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. With the whole school being on a single level, classrooms are organised with an interactive approach and or high structure / low arousal approach.

  • Fixed Term until 31st August 2025. 
  • Working Hours: 8.45am -3.45pm (32.5 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

SEN Teaching Assistants play a vital role in the progress and success of the young people at the school. The school is committed to making sure all support staff feel appreciated and well-supported by provide comprehensive training and an induction programme, ensuring you have the guidance, skills, and resources needed to deliver high-quality care for every young person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning activities.
  • Support students in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments and reports.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supporting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.

The successful education will have the following:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (Minimum level 3) Desired not essential
  • Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
  • Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
