Full-Time Learning Support Assistant
Location: Tooting
Position: Year 5, Special Educational Needs Support
Start Date: November

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Tooting is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Learning Support Assistant to support students in Year 5 with Autism (ASD) and ADHD. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children with special educational needs achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for Year 5 students with ASD and ADHD.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment, helping to build the children's social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to the teaching staff and SEN team.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (particularly ASD and ADHD) in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children with additional needs.
  • Commitment to working full-time, starting in November.
