A secondary school in Havant, Hampshire, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the SENDCo, providing in-class support to students with additional needs and delivering 1:1 or small group interventions.   • Classroom Support: Assist students with additional needs during lessons, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Interventions: Deliver targeted 1:1 or small group interventions to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff to develop and implement strategies that support individual students.
  • Monitoring Progress: Track and report on the progress of students receiving additional support, providing feedback to teachers and the SENDCo.
  • Encouragement and Motivation: Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to engage fully in their education and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing materials and resources for lessons and interventions.
  • Educational Background: A good standard of education, including strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • IT Skills: Competent in using IT to support learning and manage records.
  • Organisation: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a Primary setting is desirable but not essential. Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) is advantageous.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to different classroom environments and the varying needs of students.
