Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading educational recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Practitioner to join a dynamic secondary school in Winchester. This role focuses on supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to ensure they receive the best possible educational experience.

The Learning Support Practitioner will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with ASD and ADHD in a secondary school setting.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and help them achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with the school's SEN team to ensure consistent and effective support strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with students with Autism and/or ADHD in an educational setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
