About the Role:
- Position: Learning Support SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Wigan
- Start Date: Immediately
- Contract: Full-Time
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Your Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and group support for students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement tailored support plans that meet each student’s individual needs.
- Support the emotional and social development of students, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and included in school life.
- Use a variety of strategies and resources to assist students with learning difficulties, communication barriers, and physical or emotional challenges.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive and succeed.
What We’re Looking For:- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable, but a strong passion for helping others is essential.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are key to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure students receive the best possible care and support.
- A genuine interest in making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate (or willingness to work towards one), are preferred but not essential.
