Year 4 Teaching Assistant – Level 3

One of our schools in the Burnley area are seeking to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant.

You must have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification to be considered for this role.

The Head Teacher has specified that the successful educator must have the confidence to deliver and teach whole class lessons when the Teacher is on courses and training.

The class also requires someone who has strong, positive behaviour management strategies.

Hours: Full-time 8.30am – 3.30pm

Area: Burnley, BB11

Pay: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with the children and the staff, using a calming and nurturing approach.
  • Deliver whole class lessons when the teacher is absent.
  • Communicate with families/carers to provide feedback about children.
  • Provide support to all children, including those with additional needs.
  • Have a good understanding of children with additional needs e.g. ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher and other professionals to enhance children’s learning.
  • Assist with classroom management.
  • Help to create a safe, fun and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commit to the wider life of the school and the community of the school.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years Teaching Assistant experience in a Primary School setting.
  • A good understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Excellent Safeguarding knowledge.
