Job Vacancy: Literacy Assistant (Part-Time) – Secondary School, Rawtenstall

Start Date: January 2025
Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire
Hours: Part-Time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Literacy Assistant to join our secondary school team in Rawtenstall. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students in their reading, writing, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with literacy-based activities, both one-on-one and in small groups
  • Support teachers in delivering literacy-focused lessons and interventions
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback
  • Foster a love for reading and learning in students of varying abilities
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication and literacy skills
  • A passion for helping young people succeed academically
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Prior experience in a similar role or educational setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Patience, adaptability, and a supportive attitude
