Salary: £15 per hour (£21,577 annual)
Hours: 08:20am- 15:30pm.
Start date: September 2024 (earlier start can be negotiated).
Term time only.

This is a unique and exciting role to support pupils within the additional needs department with literacy and numeracy intervention. You will be joining a large and friendly team who will encourage you to succeed and make a positive impact on the pupils you’ll be supporting. You will initially complete a probationary period through Teaching Personnel before transitioning to a school contract after Christmas 2024.

About you:

  • Experience working with children or young adults.
  • Classroom experience desirable (primary, secondary or special needs).
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • An understanding of learning difficulties – Autism, ADHD and mental health needs.
  • Complex special needs experience desirable – Down Syndrome, Physical disabilities, Adverse Childhood Trauma.
  • Caring and patient individual and able to work independently.
  • Seeking a long-term placement with the opportunity to develop skills and take on a school contract.

This role will entail a mixture of classroom support and offering interventions to small groups of pupils in literacy, numeracy and life skills. The school are seeking an individual who is able to use their initiative and bring some innovative ideas to the department. Teaching Personnel can offer behaviour management training and Team Teach course. The school are seeking a Teaching Assistant with prior experience working with children and young people with a strong understanding of additional needs.
