Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time, Term Time Only

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Literacy Support Assistant to join our dynamic team in Skelmersdale. The successful candidate will support students in developing their literacy skills, ensuring they achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group literacy support to students.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of literacy intervention programs.
  • Work closely with teachers to identify students in need of additional support.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support classroom activities and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Help to organize and manage literacy resources and materials.
  • Encourage a love of reading and writing among students.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards helping students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
