Teaching Personnel is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This full-time position begins ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mathematics department and enhancing the learning experience for students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Assisting students with varying abilities in understanding and mastering mathematical concepts.
  • Classroom Assistance: Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, and managing classroom activities.
  • One-on-One Tutoring: Providing individual or small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning and address specific areas of difficulty.
  • Lesson Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of lesson materials and resources, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of all students.
  • Assessment: Helping to assess students' work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking their progress.
  • Intervention Programs: Supporting intervention programs aimed at raising attainment in mathematics.
  • Mentoring: Acting as a mentor and positive role model, encouraging a positive attitude towards learning and academic achievement.
  • Administrative Support: Assisting with administrative tasks related to the mathematics department, such as maintaining student records and preparing reports.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Supporting extracurricular activities and clubs related to mathematics, enhancing the overall educational experience for students.
  • Professional Development: Participating in training and development opportunities to further your skills and knowledge in educational support.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A passion for mathematics and education, with a desire to support and inspire students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal growth.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
  • A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
