Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Wilmslow

Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Maths Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time role begins in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of the Maths department, supporting both teachers and students. This position is perfect for recent graduates who are passionate about Maths and considering a career in education. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Academic Support: Assisting Maths teachers in delivering effective lessons, including working with small groups or one-on-one with students to reinforce understanding of key mathematical concepts and skills.

  • Tutoring: Providing targeted support to students who may need additional help with their Maths studies, helping them to grasp challenging topics and improve their confidence in the subject.

  • Resource Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials, such as worksheets, lesson plans, and interactive resources, to enhance the learning experience for students.

  • Classroom Management: Helping to maintain a focused and positive classroom environment by supporting the teacher with classroom management and ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

  • Exam Preparation: Assisting students with revision and preparation for Maths exams, offering guidance on study techniques, and helping them to develop problem-solving strategies.

  • Collaboration with Staff: Working closely with the Maths department and other staff members to ensure that each student's educational needs are met. You will be an integral part of the school's academic support network.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A strong interest in education and a passion for helping young people succeed academically.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and teachers.
